Royal Bengal Tiger

Bengal Tiger also known as the Royal Bengal Tiger belongs to the tigris family and scientifically known as Panthera tigris is native to the Indian Subcontinent. It's considered an endangered species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and their population count is estimated to be around 2603-3346 in the cencus of 2018. Bengal Tiger's coat is yellow to light orange in colour with dark brown to black stripes and the belly and interior parts of the limbs are white in colour, the eyebrows and parts below jaw and chin are also white. White Tigers are also a mutation of these and we will soon update their info and pictures in our wildlife section.

A Portrait From The Wilderness
A new Tiger Conservation project named "Nandanvan Jungle Safari" was established by the Chhattisgarh State government so I decided to pay a visit here. I was very excited as it was my first time visiting a Jungle and seeing a wild Tiger in it's natural habitat, but I was disappointed as I didn't had any sighting that day. After about 5 to 6 visits I finally got the chance and believe me it's an overwhelming experience to see a Tiger in the open. It was my closest approach to a Tiger yet.
