Muscovy Duck

Muscovy Duck, also known as Barbary Duck in culinary context is scientifically called Cairina moschata and is native to the American continent. These are really interesting birds due to their bare textured skin on their face. They have bright yellow eyes with a patch of bare red skin around it and the bill has a dark knob in the end. They have webbed yellow or blackish feet and the body is generally white or blackish or brown in colour and some may have differently coloured feathers with white chest and underparts.

Beautiful Conclusions

Taken exactly 2 years back in the Nandanvan Jungle Safari, some of these pictures are my favourite till date and I feel so lucky to be in the right place in the right time. While our trip was at it's conclusion we were directed to a cruise experience area where these beautiful birds have been introduced by the State Government to this beautiful lake. It was a bit cloudy and the brood was scattered in smaller braces around the pier and shore outlines while a few were paddling in the water. It was really an amazing experience being around these beautiful creatures and watching them so closely.
